Allan R. Kelly MD opened his office in 1985, joining his father, Gordon B. Kelly MD, and brother, Robert H. Kelly MD, in individual practices at 929 College Avenue. His approach and model of care has evolved from a lifetime of study, commitment, education, and dedication to medical care.
Born in Fort Worth in 1955, he attended high school at Fort Worth Country Day before graduating from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, in 1977 with a degree in Biology. His medical education began at Harris Hospital Medical Laboratory and continued at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he earned his MD in 1981. From there, he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus, OH, before returning to Dallas in 1984 for a subspecialty fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Baylor University Medical Center. His mentors included Calvin Kunin, Ralph Tompsett, Donald Seldin, and others.
Dr. Kelly's research interests have included microbiology and physiology. Since moving to Fort Worth, he has been a principal investigator in multiple pharmaceutical research projects including antiviral and antidiabetic products. Also in Fort Worth he has been a member of the Reach Registry, an international collaboration in stroke and heart attack prediction. Much of this work has been published in journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Kelly is a member of the American College of Physicians and a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Microbiology and International Immune Compromised Host Society. He is also a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society (TCMS) and the Texas Medical Association (TMA). Dr. Kelly is also a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Examiners.
In the last 25 years, Allan Kelly has served on the boards of hospitals, committees, and medical associations in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, and in Austin. He continues to share his medical education and expertise with others as an attending physician supervising residents, interns, and students at the University of North Texas. For over 15 years he has worked with the state supported General Internal Medicine Preceptor Program, introducing medical students from across the state to community-based clinical practice. He has received the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award on many occasions. Dr. Kelly was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical School from 1985 through 1997. He is grateful for the leadership and collegiality of physicians, nurses, and others in his community and professional organizations. Dr Kelly believes that no physician practices in isolation, and we are all dependent on and benefit from a larger medical community.
He holds Texas medical licensure and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He is a member of professional organizations and on staff at five area hospitals and has volunteered and served as a board member for medical institutions and non-profit organizations like Samaritan House and Catholic Charities, among others. Dr. Kelly is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP). He has served on the board of governors for the Texas ACP.
Dr. Kelly and his wife Mary Craven Kelly live in Fort Worth and have two daughters and a son. Dr. Kelly enjoys running, swimming, and playing tennis. He plays the piano and enjoys spending time with his family. In 2010, Drs. Robert and Allan Kelly created Premium Medical Home.

What is an Internist?
An internist is a physician who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that affect adults. An internist is a PERSONAL PHYSICIAN, health counselor, educator, and consultant. Internists are the major providers of continuing, comprehensive health care to adults in the United States.
As your doctor, Dr. Kelly will analyze your medical history, physical condition, and the results of scientific tests, taking as much time as necessary for your care. He takes a PERSONAL INTEREST AND APPROACH with each patient. He will guide you through the course of treatment as well as counsel you on any appropriate lifestyle changes. (back to top)

As Dr. Kelly’s office manager, Diane Avis directs payroll, accounts payable, office and equipment maintenance, and Human Resources oversight, as well as providing front office support. Diane is the office’s information technology (IT) expert, overseeing data and system administration, as well as Lytec and Iscribe, our practice management and e-prescribing programs. Diane has been a part of our practice since 2003. Diane attended North Texas State University studying Business Management and completed a two-year program at UT Austin for Texas state IT specialization. She holds numerous IT certifications. Diane came to Dr. Kelly’s office after 30 years with the State of Texas as a leasing officer, systems analyst, and expert in IT management. Diane was fortunate to have been on the ground floor for systems analysis, programming and implementation of the first automated food stamp program in Texas, the Child Protective Services automated case system, and the Child Care Licensing Management Information System, the systems that streamlined state government operations while expediting services, protection and assistance to Texas’s most vulnerable. She also worked in sales and marketing for Helmsley-Spear, Inc.
Diane loves music of all kinds and produced a CD with her show group, with whom she has sung for many years. She volunteers for N.E.E.D., a Tarrant County outreach program. She also enjoys woodworking and painting. Diane has been married for 34 years, has two daughters and three sons, and 10 grandchildren ranging in age from 18 months to 23 years! |

Paula Hendrix is Dr. Kelly’s Certified Professional Coder and administrative assistant. Paula enters all patient billing documents for claims processing through insurance carriers. Additionally, she checks patients in and out, handles phone calls, schedules patient appointments with Dr. Kelly and other physicians and manages charts and filing. Paula has worked at Dr. Kelly’s office since 2001, and she was previously with Radiology Associates for 13 years. Paula and her husband have two daughters in high school and college. Along with raising her daughters, she keeps their two wonderful Schnauzers in line. When things are under control, she and her husband enjoy riding through the countryside on their Harley Davidson. |

Sharon L. Lantz, a Registered Nurse, sees patients in the examining room and in the lab, does E.C.G.’s as needed, speaks with patients on the phone to assess their needs, and handles prescription refills. She has worked at the office since the fall of 2007. For 29 years, Sharon was an E.N.T. and allergies nurse, and from 1972-1978 a hospital nurse. She earned her B.S.N. from the TCU Harris College of Nursing and taught for five years at an annual allergy course presented by the Pan American Allergy Society. Sharon has been involved with the North Texas Alzheimer’s Association since 2007. She loves gardening, floral design and spending time with her husband. |

Sandy Partridge is the full-time Registered Nurse and Clinical Study Coordinator for the practice. Sandy earned her B.S.N. from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1978. Sandy has been married to her husband Mike for 26 years. They have two sons, one in college and the other in 8th grade. Through her son with special needs, Sandy is involved with the Special Olympics and Miracle League baseball. Sandy enjoys attending church, playing duplicate bridge and scrapbooking, as well as being with her two dogs (a Yorkie and a border collie/blue heeler). |

Nancy Estes is Dr. Kelly’s insurance manager and legal affairs manager. She interacts with insurance companies and handles all insurance claim issues. Nancy also answers patients’ questions concerning their statements. She prepares financial reports and, as legal affairs manager, is coordinator of Dr. Kelly’s expert work for legal firms. With the practice since 1995, Nancy received her B.A. cum laude in English from Erskine College and holds a B. Mus., Voice Performance from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to working at Dr. Kelly’s office, Nancy was assistant director for corporate development at Columbia University's Graduate School of Business (New York City), a promotional makeup artist for Revlon, Inc. (New York City), a professional singer in opera and musical theater, as well as a substitute teacher for the Fort Worth ISD. Nancy has two grown daughters. She supports the Fort Worth Opera and TCU, where her husband Richard is a professor. Nancy enjoys reading, gardening, knitting and biking. |

Julie P. Miner wears many hats, including medical assistant, assistant office manager, and front office staff. She graduated with honors from Remington College and is a National Registered Certified Medical Assistant. On a usual day at the office, Julie works in the lab, checks patients in and out, answers the phone, schedules patient appointments with Dr. Kelly and consulting physicians, obtains insurance referrals, manages charts, and enters billing charges. She has been with Dr. Kelly since 2007. Outside the office, Julie is learning to quilt and enjoys reading, camping, and scrapbooking. Married with two children, she has a lot of other creatures in her house, too. She has ‘a zoo’ of two Maine Coon cats, a turtle, two dogs (a Labrador and a Shih Tzu), two floppy rabbits and a hamster! |
